In August 2022, I packed my laptop (and let’s be honest, some going-out fits) and headed to Las Vegas for a little work-meets-play reset. And let me tell you—Vegas is built for this kind of balance.

Sure, it’s a wild city full of bright lights and late nights—but it’s also full of cool coffee shops, hotel lounges with strong WiFi, and enough networking opportunities to keep your schedule booked and buzzing.

I bounced between meetings and mojitos, typing emails by day and taking in the nightlife by night. Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you rethink what your 9-to-5 could really look like.

Pro tip? Schedule in your fun just like your meetings. Explore the Strip, find hidden gems off it, and let yourself unwind—you’re working, but you’re also living.

I stayed at Mandalay Bay, which I highly recommend if you’re looking to be close to all the action while still having a relaxing place to unwind. The hotel’s massive (over 1,000 rooms!), packed with dining options, a gorgeous pool area, and spa spots to recharge. Bonus: it’s just steps from the Monte Carlo casino floor—so you can go from chill to thrill real quick.

Of course, I had to squeeze in some iconic entertainment while I was there. I caught the Blue Man Group show and let’s just say… my inner theater kid was thriving. Told ya—you really can have fun while working.

And if you’re trying to explore Vegas on a budget, good news: there’s plenty to do without spending on overpriced passes. Walk the Strip, dip into quirky little shops, or go full tourist and take a walk (or horseback!) tour downtown. Whether you’re all about high energy nights or mellow morning strolls, Vegas delivers.
