My artistry is set with eclectic intentions to radiate positivity and to bring my community together. I am currently working on some new ideas, which will be added here as they come to fruition. Until then, take a listen and a look to expand your mind with my digital time capsule built over time.
Marliii’s latest single “Breathe the Fire” is now available in all music platforms. The track is a powerful anthem about never giving up, with its soaring vocals and honest lyrics inspiring listeners to keep pushing forward.
“Breathe the Fire” was written by Marliii and produced by Jesse Millard, who has supported notable acts such as The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Attack Attack!, and Memphis May Fire.
Marliii wrote GH0$t and recorded her own voice, guitar, and piano arrangements, which she then co-produced with Portland-based record producer Zach Wolf, whose professional repertoire includes having worked with artists such as Adele, Coldplay, Maroon 5, The Weekend, and Jason Derulo to name a few.
This song is about turning points and empowerment: acceptance of past mistakes and acknowledging the necessary changes that must be made in order to grow and believe in yourself.
I wrote “We’ll Shine” while I was in college, and I also produced it for our Audio Production class.
I independently released “We’ll Shine” to share creative vibes with the world 🙂
“Clearly” is a dreamy indie-chill tune that takes on the perspectives of isolation, longing to be heard, and never giving up. I depict the mystic contrast between clarity and chaos in this song by incorporating a concrete R&B-based backbeat, while combining jazz-centric chords and embellishments, along with gradually ascending and cutting the reverb for multiple tracks (most notably, the vocals). In addition, I add delay to my mandolin to form ‘swirly’ sounds, and with my lyricism I grasp onto forces of nature and metaphysical concepts that feel beyond humanity.
